Privacy policy · Effective July 17, 2026

Plain and honest.

This is not a document written by lawyers to protect a business model. Hey Potts doesn't have one to protect. Read it in full — it's short.

The short version

No data collected. Period.

Hey Potts does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or store your personal data anywhere off your device. There is no account. There is no server that knows you exist. If someone breached us, they would find nothing about you, because we have nothing about you.

What Potts reads

Your calendar, on your device.

With your permission, Potts reads your calendar events through Apple's EventKit framework. That data is processed entirely on your iPhone to figure out what's coming up and what to say about it. It is never sent to us, and never leaves your device.

You can revoke calendar access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

What Potts stores

Settings and audio, locally.

Potts stores your preferences (voice, tone, quiet hours, chosen calendars) and pre-rendered audio for upcoming nudges in the app's local sandbox on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What leaves your device

Nothing.

No analytics. No crash reporting to us. No tracking. No advertising identifiers. No third-party SDKs. No servers of our own. Not even a "how many people opened the app today" counter.

Apple technologies

On-device, by Apple.

Potts uses several Apple system frameworks — notifications (to speak on the Lock Screen), speech synthesis (to say the words), and Apple Intelligence (to rephrase lines so you don't hear the same thing twice). All of these run on your device. Their behavior is governed by Apple's own privacy policies.

Purchases

Handled entirely by Apple.

The one-time purchase is processed by the App Store. We never see your name, email, payment method, or country. Apple confirms to the app that you own it; that's all we know.

Changes

If this ever changes.

If we ever change how any of this works, we'll update this page and note the effective date. We won't retroactively start collecting data from you — that would defeat the whole point.
